The word calisthenics comes from the ancient Greek words kállos (κάλλος), which means "beauty" (to emphasize the aesthetic pleasure that derives from the perfection of the human body), and sthenos (σθÎνος), meaning "strength" (great mental strength, courage, strength, and determination).

Bunny is a qualified Calisthenics coach. Look out for ad hoc workshops working on bodyweight skills in Andover.

Calisthenics builds full body strength. Pushing, pulling and statics with limited equipment.
​
Calisthenic exercises will increase strength, fitness, muscle tone and flexibility. Using different movements such as pulling, pushing and static holds using the own body weight for resistance/weight.
Using minimal equipment such as bars, gymnastic rings and resistance bands to build full body strength.

What I love about Calisthenics is how accessible it is to all levels. There is always a progression or a regression for every person.
Joining our regular workshop once a month will give you ideas and tips for you to go away and practice at home with the opportunity to work 121 as well with one of the coaches. The workshops will include mobility, a range of exercises including a reps section, skills and stretching. Each workshop will include the fundamental elements of calisthenics but have a slightly different focus to each workshop so you are always learning and building strength no matter of your level. You will have 2 coaches on hand and a maximum of 12 spaces are available so you can have a good amount of attention.
Bunny and Lisa will take you through a structured class and leave you feeling stronger than you did before. Bunny and Lisa are both qualified level 3 Personal Trainers specialising in bodyweight training and together we combine and share our knowledge and experience with you.

Having always been interested in sport and keeping fit, I have tried most forms of exercise and fitness training over the years but never Calisthenics. My wife is part of Bunny's Pilates class and we have both been a part of Johnathon's weekly fitness classes. When offered the chance to join Bunny's calisthenics class I decided to give it a go.
Not sure what to expect, it proved an excellent sessions accommodating a wide range of abilities and ages. The lessons introduced techniques and skills cumulatively ensuring a feasible challenge for everyone, plus tips and hints for practicing. It was definitely not easy nor impossible. I was left with a sense of achievement and desire to improve. Bunny's approach puts you at ease, is very positive and the small classes ensures personalisation with attention to detail. I really enjoyed the 2hrs of instruction and look forward to joining the next class.
