Yin Yoga, Meditation and Gong Sound Bath evening. Still time to join or do an hour class at home.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the stillness of Yin Yoga, the mindfulness of meditation and the beautiful sounds of the gong. In the live sessions in Longparish, Hampshire you will undertake a personal journey to reconnect with yourself.

The 2.5 hour evenings are held once a month and the first one is tonight. Bunny, Shaun and Cherrie are here to take you on a journey.


Yin will force you to become still, find peace, overcome mental challenges and emotions and build resilience to stresses.

The principle of all exercise is to stress tissue so the body will respond by strengthening and stretching it. Yin is different and works by moderately stressing the joints rather than the muscles. Connective tissue and facia is different from muscle and needs to be exercised differently.

Instead of the rhythmic contraction and release that best stretches muscle, connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load. If you gently stretch connective tissue by holding a yin pose for a long time, the body will respond by making longer and stronger—which is exactly what you want.

Although connective tissue is found in every bone, muscle, and organ, it’s most concentrated at the joints. In fact, if you don’t use your full range of joint flexibility, the connective tissue will slowly shorten to the minimum length needed to accommodate your activities. If you try to flex your knees or arch your back after years of underuse, you’ll discover that your joints have been “shrink-wrapped” by shortened connective tissue.

Using props such as bolsters, pillows, blankets and blocks together will will work on mat based poses to hold and let gravity work the magic. Still your mind and body.


What is a gong bath?


A gong bath is a relaxing and therapeutic experience. During a gong bath you are 'bathed' in the vibration sound of the gong. Despite the name there is no water - so no need for swimsuits! The only thing you need to do is lie down on a mat (provided by us), wrap yourself in a blanket, lay your head on a pillow, close your eyes and relax. The lights will be dimmed to help you to wind down.


The session takes about an hour and the gong is not played in a recognisable pattern or rhythm. This encourages the brain to drift into a theta state, which is the early stages of sleep or in other words a meditative state. This allows the left, logical side of the brain to rest, while the right, creative (and underused) side of the brain is stimulated which can be wonderful for relaxation, healing, creative inspiration and problem solving.


What to expect?


Everyone's experience is different and unique and even if you come regularly your experience will likely to be different from the last. The gong is good for clearing emotional issues and blockages, relieving pain, stress, worry and creating a sense of calm and rejuvenation. The feeling of calm after a gong bath can last for many days after the session. People often report feeling more clarity afterwards and having more focus in their life or find a new perspective on what issues they are currently facing.


Towards the end of the session we will introduce some more instruments such as singing bowls and our beautiful bamboo wind chimes, which are aligned to the elements of earth, water, air, and fire. Finally we move into a place of silence for around five minutes before tingling some small bells to bring you gently and carefully back from your place of relaxation.
